19/04/2008 - Success at Melbourne Flower Show

Long hours and intense effort were again rewarded when Mark won thrid place at the Interflora Asia Pacific Cup Selection Competition at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.  As well as an overall 3rd place prize, Mark also won 1st prize for the Final surprise item and 2nd place for his Art Nouveau inspired wedding bouquet.  See photos on the designs page.

26/03/2008 - Workshops at Brisbane's Park Floristry School

10/02/2008 - Interflora National Director Role

With the support of many members around Australia, Mark has been elected to the Board of Directors of Interflora Australia.  Mark is now one of two National Directors on the board, representing Interflora members from every district in the country.

03/01/2008 - New Alstonville Base

Mark and his partners took over the ownership of Alstonville Florist, the town's only florist shop, on the first trading day of 2008.   Mark will be in-store frequently, offering his creative energies and designer's eye to the changing face of the shop.

19/12/2007 - markpampling.com Updated

www.markpampling.com has undergone some minor, but significant changes.  If you're reading this, you've seen one of them - an extra news page has been added.  This feature will be updated regularly with upcoming activities and news from Mark's calendar and other interesting industry event information.  Check back regularly for the latest updates.
The designs page now includes an 'enlarge' option under each image, allowing you to view to designs in a larger format.  Larger images will open in a new window.

08/12/2007 - Christmas Contrasts in Fusion Flowers Magazine

Mark mixes string, wool and Zantedeschia Lilies to create an unusual freestanding Festive Wreath in Issue 39 of Fusion Flowers Magazine.  The design also contains some traditional Christmas elements such as Ilex (Holly) leaves and glistening baubles, as well as the unexpected inclusion of Dryandra formosa heads and hundreds of Berzilia berries.

08/11/2007 - Mark Becomes an Interflora National Judge

At the 53rd Interflora National Confernece in Alice Springs (October 2007), Mark was honoured to receive his Interflora National Judges Certificate.  The presentation was the end of an intense period of qualifications and now gives Mark the opportunity to extend on his competition experiences and give back to the Interflora Community.

22/10/2007 - Inspiration in Alice Springs

Australian Indigenous culture provided the basis for a floral presentation entitled Inspired Dreams at the 2007 Interflora National Conference.  Desert Park, just outside Alice Springs, was a unique and highly appropriate setting for the presentation that was a successful collaboration between Mark and renowned designer, Greg Block, from Ballarat. 05/10/2007 - Transformations in Philadelphia

Around 150 people watched Mark create a series of signature designs in Philadelphia on 3 October, during his demonstration for the Pennsylvannia Horticultural Society.  The demonstration was titled 'Transformations' and saw traditional materials being reborn in contemporary ways.

24/09/2007 - 2007 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

The Flower, Food and Wine Festival at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers provided numerous opportunities for Mark to practice his blending of nature and design.  Once again he convened the successful and growing Floral Design Competition, as well as installing a feature display with colleague, Irene Brockwell, and participating in entertaining stage presentations with Floral Design Competition winner, Bart Hassam.

08/08/2007 - Designing in Davao

Smithers-Oasis Malaysia hosted Mark on a visit to The Philippines where he conducted a well received demonstration and workshop program to the florists of Davao in the south.  Mark was also privileged to be a part of the judging panel for the 4^th Waling Cup Floral Design Competition.
